ACL Open #11 - San Diego, CA

Registration opens for ACL Platinum members on Tuesday, April 27th at 6pm PST and remain open until Monday, May 3rd at 6pm PST.


EVENT OVERVIEW

This will be a 3-day event including ACL Rounders, Singles and Doubles. Players MUST play in the Saturday Rounders in order to compete in the open events on Saturday and Sunday.


GUEST RESTRICTIONS

At this time (April 20, 2021) each player may only bring one guest due to covid restrictions. This may change as the event date gets closer.


ADMISSION FEE

Unlike the conference event, this event has a significant venue rental fee. San Diego in June is the place to be! There will be a $10 admission bracelet fee for all players and guests 13 and over. The bracelet is good for the entire weekend and can be purchased when you arrive.

Friday June 11

  • 7:30am- Doors open
  • 9am- Seniors singles, Women’s singles, ACL Swap Blind Draw*
  • 2 pm- Crew cup (2 divisions for Crew Cup - Pro/Advanced and Competitive/Intermediate) 10 round games
  • 6pm Blind draws (2 divisions for Blind Draw - Pro/Advanced, Competitive/Intermediate) and Women's Doubles

Saturday, June 12

  • 7:30am- Doors open
  • 9am- Doubles Rounders (6 games min) - Each round will last approximately 1 hour
  • Approximately 3 pm - Doubles Levels 3 and 4
  • 5pm (or 2 hours after Level 3 and 4 begin) - Doubles Level 1 and 2

Sunday, June 13

  • 7:30am- Doors open
  • 9am- Singles Levels 3 and 4 start
  • 12pm- Singles Levels 1 and 2 start

Sit and go blind draws throughout all 3 days if boards are open. ACL Local points awarded


If a player does not show up for Rounders on Saturday, they will lose their registration and will not be able to play singles or doubles.


FORMAT

ACL Rounders is a Progressive Round Robin format where all teams are play 6 (or more) rounds against different opponents. The first-round opponents will be random. For each round after the first, teams will be matched up against another team with the same (or similar) record. 1-0 teams will play 1-0 teams. 3-1 teams will play 3-1 teams, or similar. After the 6th round, teams will be divided into 4 groups (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4). Players will receive their doubles bracket after rounders which will tell them which level they made it into. The 4 pools of each Level will be put in either 2 or 4 double elimination brackets for Singles depending on the number of entrants (see start times above). Doubles will be double elimination brackets, 2 or 4 brackets per Level depending on the number of entrants (see start times above). All games will be played to 21( except crew cup which will be 10 rounds.) See the full ACL rules/regulations here.


REGISTRATION

There will be a limit of 512 players that can attend this Open. Early registration will open for ACL Platinum members on Tuesday, April 27th at 6pm PST and remain open until Monday, May 3rd at 6pm PST. If there are open spots after the Platinum Early Bird Registration period, general registration will open to everyone on Tuesday, May 4thh at 6pm PST. If you want to partner with a certain individual, you both will need to register individually and get in the event. For example, if Peter is a platinum player and he registers during the early bird registration, but his partner, Brad who is not a platinum member doesn’t get to register because the event sold out, Peter will have to find a partner who did get registered. It is highly recommended that you purchase a platinum membership to access the early bird registration as this event may sell out quickly. There will NOT be a wait list. Once it is sold out, it is closed. If spots open due to no-shows, we MAY allow walk up registrations on a first come, first served basis.

SPECIALTY EVENTS (FRIDAY @ 9AM) 

All specialty events are $25/player with 70% payouts

  • Senior singles
  • Women singles
  • ACL Swap blind draw (4 game RR into single elimination for top players)

CREW CUP (FRIDAY @ 1PM)

Crew Cup (10 round limit games)

  • Pro/Advanced $100/team (70% payout)
  • Competitive/Intermediate $80/team (60% Payout) 
    • all players must have a skill level of Competitive, Intermediate or Novice. Teams will be FORFEITED if this rule is not followed.

BLIND DRAWS & WOMEN DOUBLES (FRIDAY @ 6PM)

  • Pro/Advanced $30/player (70% payout)
    • Pro/Advanced Skill levels only
  • Competitive/Intermediate $20/player (60% Payout)
    • all players must have a skill level of Competitive, Intermediate or Novice.
  • Women Doubles $40/team (70% payout)

OPEN ROUNDERS (SATURDAY @ 9AM - 10 GAMES TOTAL GUARANTEED)

The cost is $100/player for Gold and Platinum players ($120 for Bronze and Silver players) which includes Rounders, Singles and Doubles tournaments. 10 games guaranteed. ACL Open points will be awarded for Singles and Doubles standings, not for Rounders. 60% of total entry fees paid out. Out of the 60%, 85% will go to Level 1, 15% to level 2, and prizes will be awarded in Levels 3 and 4.


REFUND POLICY

NO Refunds given after Wednesday June 9th at 8pm PST unless there is a shutdown from COVID-19. Outside food and beverages are NOT allowed to enter the building.


COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

FACE MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN IN THE BUILDING (unless actively eating or drinking). If a player/spectator is found not wearing a mask, a warning will be given. If that player/spectator is found not wearing a mask again, they will be escorted out of the building, be asked to not return, and will not receive a refund. Player and spectator temperatures may be taken upon arrival in the building each day. If you are feeling sick, stay home. 


PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Players must abide by the rules and regulations including the Player Conduct section. Players are not allowed to transfer their registration to another player.
  • Please double check your player profile and make sure all the correct information is listed (cell phone number for texting alerts).
  • Disclaimer: any player that is asked to leave the facility for any reason including violating the venue’s COVID policies will forfeit all entry fees and prize money earned during the event.
